"I'll get you my pretty!"

I'm not a huge fan of Halloween or witches but when I saw this painting at Sips N' Strokes, I LOVED it! Some of my sweet friends from FI went and had a blast painting this cute little witches' hat. I will be going back very soon to paint some more!

First step...painting the canvas with the background paint
Then the formation of the hat begins....
And a few more small details
Then the fun part, the spider and polka dots
And the final product...puffy paint and all!

I love these girls and can't wait to do another painting VERY soon:)
Wouldn't it be fun to have one for every season??

I am in love...

with my new phone! I have wanted the iPhone FOREVER and finally got it this past week.
Of course I had to to to Swoozies and get a cute case for it.
I am still learning all of the cool features but honestly...it is about the coolest thing ever!
I am addicted to Words with Friends, GeoQpons, and the incredible pictures that it takes.

Footloose and fancy free!

I feel so guilty that I haven't blogged in over a week so this post is a little lengthy! Getting back into the "back to school" routine is so hard, and I only have myself to worry about. Those of you with little ones and a full time job...my hat goes off to you. Every afternoon when I get home I have to have a little down time just to unwind and then I try to be "wife of the year" and cook dinner, do laundry, get ready for the next day. I've been so bad about even going to the gym this week. My goal next week is to enter the doors of CF at least 3 times...Whew! I hope can do that!
This weekend was so fun!
Friday night a couple of girlfriends and I went to see Footloose at the little Fountain Inn Civic Center.
Kelly, Tarah, and KKG at Papas and Beer
Susannah, Kelly T, and Shelley

Can I say that this production was adorable? The cast members did a fabulous job recreating one of the BEST movies ever. The girl that played Ariel even sounded like her. There are so many scenes from that movie that I just LOVE!!! Here are just a few...

And this quote says it all..."From the oldest of times, people danced for a number of reasons. They danced in prayer... or so that their crops would be plentiful... or so their hunt would be good. And they danced to stay physically fit... and show their community spirit. And they danced to celebrate." And that is the dancing we're talking about. Aren't we told in Psalm 149 "Praise
ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song. Let them praise His name in the dance"?

Needless to say I cleaned our house to the Footloose soundtrack.

Jeremy roped on Saturday (he won 1st and 2nd...so proud) so I cleaned, and cleaned, and cleaned some more. I also made this cute little wreath for fall for my momma. She's going to hang indian corn in the center or maybe something else to add a little more color to it.

I cannot wait for cooler weather, long sleeve t-shirts, TIGER football,
apple pies, and oyster roasts!

Saturday night, I went with my parents to my first ever Greenville Drive game. Other than the nasty storm that came up, it was loads of fun!
Today, we went to church, had lunch, and then I was a little crafty and whipped these two Halloween wreaths out for two of my sweet friends at school. I took the pics with my phone so they are not clear. I LOVE BURLAP!
Hope everyone else had a great weekend! We did, I just wish it went by a lot slower:)

BIRTHDAY BLAST X 2

This weekend has been full of FUN! Our niece turned 2 so we celebrated Friday night with BBQ, family, and a cute little girl!
Her cake was BEAUTIFUL and she got lots of fun prizes! We love that little girl "so good" and can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays.
Look at that cute cake!

On Sunday, we celebrated one of my best friends, Erica's little girl's birthday "cookies and milk" style.
We all had such a sweet time together, making her first birthday special.

Pinnable Me...WILD about WREATHS

So I meant to do this yesterday for "Pinnable Me Friday", linking up with Paw Prints and Pastry Bags, but time slipped up on me, so there is no time like today. If you don't know about Pinterest yet...you need to let me know! I will send you an invite and then you can begin "pinning" like crazy all of the fun ideas out there.
Have you ever found an idea in a magazine that you want to remember and then you throw the magazine away or you cannot put your finger on the picture...well, here is your solution! Pinterest is an awesome site with MILLIONS of ideas for you to "pin" and have at the touch of your fingertips. You have got to see it!
So to go along with "Pinnable Me Friday",
here are some of my favorite wreaths out there right now.
I am slightly obsessed with wreaths and have many different ones...of course I have one for our front door and side door of our house.
I recently made one for my classroom.
And one for my niece's birthday party!

Shoot...I even have
one on my bathroom door that I like to change periodically.

Here are a few of my absolute favorites from Pinterest that I plan to make:

I will be making this for fall!

I will be making this for Halloween!

I will be making this for July 4th!

I will be making this for spring/summer!

This is where the idea was sparked for my classroom wreath...
Love it but too much work and "preciseness" (Is that a word??)!

How cute is this with old family pictures?

Last but not least...too cute for Christmas!

Goodbye sweet SUMMER!!!

Since I am saying goodbye to my summer vacation in a couple of days...
I thought I would make a top ten list of my favorite moments of SUMMER 2011.

Here it goes...
#10...going to CrossFit to beat the summer heat! Although it might have been 90 degrees in that warehouse and not 120 degrees, it was nice to get my workout done for the day by 10 am.

#9...not taking one SINGLE teacher training, workshop, etc. This was the first year, in ten years, that I haven't taken something over the summer. It was quite nice:)
#8...eating lunch out leisurely with friends and family
#7...reading several great books...not all of my summer reading list was finished:(
#6...going on several FUN trips, including SeaWorld,
Fernandina Beach,
Gatlinburg,
Atlanta, and
North, South Carolina (for FM's wedding)

#5...seeing Miranda Lambert in concert with my sweet friend, Amanda
#4...teaching the good news about Jesus to the precious kiddos of Fountain Inn First Baptist Church each Wednesday night

#3...shopping with my little momma at some of our favorite stores

#2...going roping with J because it didn't matter what time I got home
and that I didn't have to be somewhere early in the morning.

#1...spending 3 weeks with my sweet niece! Those memories will be cherished FOREVER:) I sure do love that girl!

A few steps closer...

I finally feel good about my classroom...the only things left to do are those that I can do when teachers go back. I love to make a list and better yet, cross things off. My listkeeps getting longer and longer though and I don't understand how there can possibly be more to do.
Here are a few more pics of my room...

Welcome sign
Hallway display...I have cute circles to put above each piece of paper with their name and a picture of them in a cowboy hat
7 habits
SS Timeline
Probably my most favorite thing right now...cute "READ" pillows!
Thanks to Pinterest.com for the idea:)
My whiteboard with a place for the sweet notes/artwork that my kiddos make me and our table group point section
My essential question section on my board...now that I look at it, I have to make one change:( BOO!
One last thing...I got the CUTEST pencil/pen organizer at Cracker Barrel. Isn't it fun?
