I'm back!!!

Ok folks...get ready for the LONGEST post ever since I haven't been good at blogging since September of last year.  I'm really going to try to stay with it this time.  My sweet friend Amanda, who teaches just a few doors down from me created a precious new blog... Teaching Maddeness! She really inspired me to start blogging again.  Her new blog is so stinking cute...she amazes me all the time!  I'm going to guest blog for her next week while she's on vacay... so that'll be fun!

Let's see where I should begin...
The past few weeks have been a little crazy. Several of our family members have not been well and my sweet hubby broke his ankle in a horse accident.  He's a team roper and for those that don't know much about that sport...the header ropes the horns of a steer and the heeler (which is what my husband does) ropes the feet.  The steer tripped which caused the horse to fall.  Needless to stay J's ankle/fibula was broken.  Surgery was done (pins and plates-see x-ray) and now we are on the road to recovery.  We've been doing LOTS of therapy at home and with a therapist so that he can be back to 100% very soon.  Since he's been down and out...I have been able to do several things around the house that I've had on my summer list.  I know that things happen for a reason and God timed this one perfectly.  Thank goodness for summer vacation which allows me to be home to help the injured.  Here are a few things that I've worked on so far this summer...

Ready to celebrate the 4th of July with this fun wreath...idea straight from Pinterest.

Cute little stool that my parents found on an antique run...everything looks better turquoise, huh?

Canvases to go in my classroom...I'm thrilled with how these turned out!

Recently I have gotten super excited about working on changing some things in my classroom.  I want to paint several bookcases and a stool so those will be done as soon as I can get into the building.  Let's just say Pinterest keeps my brain going...I've found so many cute ideas recently that I MUST do!  Hopefully I can accomplish them all and post when I finish!

This weekend was fun... J was able to get out a little bit and that made him happy.  He's always traveling to rodeos/ropings, hunting, fishing, etc. that being confined to the couch stinks for him.
We did make it to a roping event to just "watch", not participate in and for me...I was able to go to a great concert last night!  (Thompson Square, Darius Rucker, and Lady Antebellum)  I love a good concert and especially love the girls I went with! This morning we were able to go to church for the first time in a month!  YAY!  I've missed it so much and it was so nice to be back in the house of the Lord.

This coming week will be awesome, I am sure.  A sweet little red head is coming to Camp Auntie (that's what she calls me!).  We have so much fun when our niece comes to town.  This year J will get to spend LOTS of time with her as well since he will be home.  We're planning on going to the movies, picking from the garden, shopping a little, making a few crafts, and more...it's always a joy to have her and we make the most of every single minute.

Until next time...I promise it won't be FOREVER, like last time!  HA:)
